Conny Groenewegen’s women’s label CG offers innovation in knitwear. Her signature ‘soft-tech’ concept combines modern technology with traditional handwork, while blending a straightforward ‘Dutch’ approach with an international appeal and sophistication. The CG label is nourished by Groenewegen's creativity and ability to develop new techniques and possibilities in fashion -- assuring the best possible materials, quality and integrity in each design. These uncompromising standards require a deep understanding of time, meticulous attention to details and a close working relationship with a network of craftspeople and creative professionals.

The Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collection is inspired by ‘alchemy’ and the mysterious transformations that colour our mind, body and spirit. Each garment is processed with pigments resulting in a layered colour intensity that changes the character of each yarn -- shiny gold, silver and copper yarns are transformed with an oxidized look. Open cotton and silk knits are combined with tight wool patterns that are washed to create a felting effect. This ‘alchemical process’ resulted in a series of minimal silhouettes with a fascinating balance between traditional craftsmanship and innovation.

With this ‘Alchemy’ collection Conny Groenewegen entered the Dutch Fashion Awards in November 2011 and managed to enchant the entire international jury. Not only did she win the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award 2011 worth €25.000, she also received the invitation to show her label during New York, Tokyo or Stockholm fashion weeks in 2012. In addition to these honours Groenewegen also won the ‘second prize’, the International Fashion Incubator Award 2011. This generous award is granted by Spazio Genova in Milan, who will offer the CG label showroom space and support during the entire sales campaign for Autumn/Winter 2012/13 and Spring/Summer 2013.

On November 5th, 2011 Conny Groenewegen launched her signature 'slashed wedge' platform at dutch shoe retailer Sacha. The impressive ballet laced shoe with its high wedge heel caught in a net of slashed leather is sold at Sacha stores in the Netherlands as well as online.
