Since 2003 Francisco van Benthum is the leading force behind luxury men’s fashion label FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM. Building on the designer’s reputation for bringing a unique vision to the high-end menswear market the label has since gained international recognition and appreciation. Van Benthum’s vision manifests in elegant and meticulously detailed collections that echo his fascination for archetypes and traditions in menswear. Van Benthum explores and stretches the borders of the classic men’s wardrobe and plays with its codes and restrictions by experimenting with volume, shifting proportions and adding alienating elements. Adding a contemporary twist to classic forms by reinterpreting
and re-composing the outline and elements of the traditional menswear silhouette is Van Benthum’s trademark.

Since 2008 FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM is presented during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, and that same year Van Benthum opened his first concept store NL=New Luxury in Amsterdam. In 2010 the label expanded with two new capsule lines, each targeting a specific customer: one a formal range and the other a more contemporary approach. These compact, yet complete lines maintain the designer’s vision and approach.

Alongside the development of the FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM label, van Benthum has been involved in commissioned design projects with brands such as SO by Alexander van Slobbe, Puma and G-Star International, he participated in exhibitions worldwide and has been pushing collaboration with other designers.
